General Bechelany, the director of LMAC, has welcomed Family Rights Forum to celebrate International Women’s Day on March 8 at RSHDL, Hammana.
At the event, LMAC officials, representatives from UN organizations, the ambassador of the Netherlands, and other key stakeholders came together to honor the significant role that women have played in addressing mine action in Lebanon and to promote gender diversity.
The platform has been provided for women who work for LMAC and the supporting organizations to share their experiences and perspectives. In her speech, Nadine Hamade, FRF’s executive director, highlights LMAC work organizing yearly gender and diversity training and providing vocational training programs, especially for women. Nadine reflects on the ongoing collaboration between LMAC and FRF, and shares the long-term goals of Family Rights Forum, which focus on socio-economic justice, gender equality, and women’s rights.
