7- Meeting with local CBOs
Four groups of adolescent girls and young women have developed youth-led advocacy initiatives for their community after receiving training on a variety of subjects, including gender issues, SRHR, legal discrimination against women and girls, and PSEAH.

To raise awareness, Group 3 has decided to focus on the topic of early child marriage in order to advocate for the the adoption of legislation that would outlaw it. The group met with “Female” and “RDFL” NGOs on the 5th August 2022, at the premises of “Ishrak” NGO to discuss the plan that had been established and to form connections with the organizations in order to spread the word and exchange knowledge.
The sessions covered a variety of topics, including gender concepts, gender-based violence, sexual & reproductive health, legal discrimination, safeguarding, prevention against sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as how to foster positive male engagement on topics related to gender equality.

A group of young women and girls met with “Jafra Foundation” to prepare their youth-led initiatives on the 6th September 2022. The group presented the findings of their plan, which focuses on empowering the local community and bringing attention to gender-based violence through an initiative held at Bourj Al Barajneh refugee camp. They have also discussed how to deliver the message at refugee camps.

A meeting brought together adolescent girls and young women from Group 1 on the 13th September 2022 to plan an initiative that involves performing a mock trial on the topic of “Combatting all Forms of Domestic Violence Through Achieving Equality and Ensuring Justice”.

Adolescent girls and young women from Group 2 met on the 29th of September 2022 to discuss their initiative on the topic of joint custody and the significant effects it has on the child’s health and wellbeing.
Group 2 seeks to highlight the right of mothers to have custody of their own children. The came up with the idea to create a video to spread awareness on the social media channels. This group is collaborating with the Dar Al Helem NGO who is supporting the process and working on following-up on the action points.
